Bronze crucifix on the model of the Crucifix of Santa Croce, a work by Cimabue datable to 1272-1280, painted in tempera for the basilica of Santa Croce in Florence where it is still preserved.

 

The crucifix shows the iconography of the Christus patiens, that is, a dying Christ on the cross, with his eyes closed and his body, long and sinuous, arched to the left.

 

The signature is not decipherable.
